The weekend is upon us and its only fair to start a new series. Let me introduce you to (drum roll please) "Respectable Sins: The Comms Edition". There was definitely inspiration behind this title - a book by Christian author, Jerry Bridges, titled "Respectable Sins". It's all about sins that we somehow think are less serious like anger, envy and pride, which often go unnoticed.
As a Christian, I tend to think this way, too. Jealousy and pride tend to rank lower than murder and rape - and even in our justice system, the latter carries heavier prison sentences than the former. In the Lord's eyes, these rank the same and can have a terrible impact on you and those around you.
Coming back to this series, the same applies in communication. We tend to think highly of public speaking, but there are a lot of under-the-radar actions that we feel are not serious and won't affect our professionalism. I hate to break it to you - you will feel the impact at some point.
We kick off the series with a new and free eBook titled "The Terror of Bad Email Etiquette". The eBook is all about email etiquette, something we often neglect. It's packed with golden rules and advice on how to make sure your emails are professional, and polite. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned emailer, this eBook is a must-read. You can download it for free, here.
Stay tuned for more on this series. We will look at other topics such as office gossip, laziness and manipulation. So, keep your eyes here, better yet, subscribe to my mailing list to stay updated on new posts.
